Meet Our Newly Confirmed Parishioners!
James Anderson: I have been privileged to get to know the good people of this parish over the last seven years. I have three children: Melissa (35), Grace (26), and Andrew James (9). Andrew James attends St. Croix Catholic School, and I have been active with him in the Boy Scouts. I’ve been very involved in the Men’s Club for the last four years. Through their encouragement and because of my son who is Catholic, I decided to become Catholic. I am very happy to become one in communion with my son and with all of you good people of St. Michael’s and St. Mary’s. I look forward to worshipping and serving with you for years to come.
Sofia Prado: I am a 27-year-old event planner currently living in Stillwater township. In my spare time, I love being outdoors, being with animals, cooking, and creating art. I was baptized and received my First Communion when I was younger but never was Confirmed. I am looking forward to returning to the Church community and all of the love and grace that comes with it.
Scott Warren: After growing up in northern Minnesota, attending the University of Minnesota, and living in the western suburbs, my family and I moved to Stillwater in 2014. I have been married to my wife, Leah, for 13 years and have been blessed with three daughters. I grew up baptized and confirmed within the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. As an adult, I attend Catholic Church with my wife, and we have raised and baptized our daughters in the Catholic faith. I am called to pursue a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith, share in the Eucharist, and grow my faith through Confirmation in the Catholic Church.
Brad Welp: I have been a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ since childhood, but about five years ago I began asking hard questions about the nature of Christianity and the Church: What is the Church? Who has authority within Christianity? What is Orthodoxy and how is it preserved? What began as questions became revelations and then convictions about Christ's one, holy, Catholic and apostolic Church. Those convictions require obedience, and so I now seek full communion with Christ's Church, for myself and for my family. My lovely wife Juliette and my eldest child Jameson have graciously, thoughtfully, and courageously joined me on my journey into the Church. We look forward to God's continued work in us, and we pray for the unity of all Christian believers.
Juliette Welp: Greetings church! I am the proud wife of Brad Welp (15 years) and mother to Jameson (9), Lila (6), Violet (2), and Rosemary (8 months). I was born and raised in a very strong Christian family with a mom and dad who pointed me to the Lord ever since I can remember. In 2019, Brad told me that he was ready to join the Catholic Church after much thought, prayer, and wrestling with deep theological questions. Initially, I was shocked and confused. But what started as confusion and suffering turned into beautiful mercy from the Lord. I felt called to “enter in” to my husband's spiritual journey and joined him in RCIA with a goal of discerning the Holy Spirit's calling. What brings me a sense of peace during this time is the grace of obedience: obedience to the Lord's calling (for my husband, myself and our children); obedience to the Church founded by Christ himself; and obedience to the sacramental life, in which I believe lives the grace that God intends for all of His children. I am so thankful that I get to call myself Catholic today and I am entrusting myself to our Lord and His leading throughout this journey of faith.
